MathGPT Honor Code

Our commitment to Academic Integrity and responsible AI learning.

🛡️ Core Principle

MathGPT is designed to help you understand the solution, not just get the answer. Technology should build neural pathways in your brain, not replace them.

Our Stance on Cheating

We actively discourage academic dishonesty. Using AI tools to complete graded assignments, exams, or quizzes without authorization is a violation of academic integrity standards at most educational institutions.

✅ What is Encouraged

  • Using MathGPT to verify your own work after you have solved a problem.
  • Asking for “step-by-step explanations” to understand complex concepts or formulas.
  • Generating similar practice problems to prepare for upcoming exams.
  • Translating word problems into mathematical notation to understand the logic.

❌ What is Prohibited

  • Copying and pasting answers directly into graded homework, quizzes, or exams.
  • Using the tool during a proctored test where AI assistance is explicitly banned.
  • Uploading copyrighted exam materials from your institution (see our DMCA policy).
  • Relying blindly on AI outputs without understanding the underlying math.

A Note on “Hallucinations”

Artificial Intelligence models, including our Symbolic Engine, are probabilistic. They can make mistakes. Using an AI answer on a test without verifying it is not only unethical but also risky.

Remember: If you submit work you do not understand, you are cheating yourself out of your own education.

For Educators & Institutions

We work with schools to ensure our tools are used responsibly. If you are an educator and believe our tool is being misused in your classroom (e.g., massive traffic spikes during exam hours), please contact our Integrity Team.
